History

The Glyndwr Hoard
In March 2002 a metal-detectorist, while scouring the woodlands above The Bell, discovered 40 ancient coins. Dated between 1250 and 1399 and were in the main of "good-quality silver". The majority were English pennies, with one penny from each of Scotland and Ireland.

Roman Caerleon
Caerleon was the site of one of Britain's three Roman Legionary Fortresses, also believed to be the location of King Arthur's Camelot. In 830 AD Nennius listed Cair Lion as one of Britain's 33 cities. The Bell lies close to the  ancient Bulmore  Roman burial site.
